You walk through the restaurant to your table, you make special attention to not get your cane stuck in the chair legs.  You know everyone notices you.  You sit down, fold your cane and pull out your technology to read the menu.  When the server comes, you ask about allergies and she points to the symbol your looking for.  The tiny little symbol.  You ask where the bathroom is and she points and gives vague directions.  Or, you walk up to the counter of your favourite coffee shop and ask about a flavour, then the cashier points to the large board on the wall behind him.  He didn’t notice the handle you are holding is a white cane.  You politely say you are blind or vision impaired, they apologize and then it happens again he next time.  
 
The problem is most of us look like our sighted partners with or without a white cane.
